Tim,
The weekend here has been great. The weather is just a little cooler, so a lot more comfortable. I am off for a three day weekend and we are celbrating the 4th of July. Your Marrows are impressive but I like them best when they are small. We call them zucchini no matter what size they are. Have you ever had zucchini bread? Wonderful stuff. They are also good stewed with tomatoes or raw cut into sticks. My Mom used to slice them, dip them in beer batter and deep fry them like onion rings. How will you fix them?

I've planted a Jack O Lantern too. The kids are hoping for something to carve at halloween.
I've got frogs living in my pond. It's been worth setting up a wildlife border.

Thanks Kat, Jo

Zucchini bread? No, I've not heard of it before, but as I expect I'll get far too many again, and I like baking bread, I'll definitely look up a recipe - cheers! Up till now I usually just stir-fry them sliced adding soy sauce near the end. Simple, but still tasty.

Jack O Lanterns! My neighbour's are already producing fruit, whilst mine haven't even got going yet (see recent photo) - I'm hoping for an Indian summer! I was considering making a wildlife pond, but decided against it mainly for health and safety reasons. Maybe I wimped out though, as I realise how great they are for wildlife.

Cheers both,
Tim :o)x
